This article assumes you already have Fru-mentor 9 (formerly known as Fruity Edition) or higher installed on your computer. If not, download it from the Native Instruments website.

First things first: Make sure that VST support is enabled within Reason by going to Preferences > Plug-ins and then checking 'Show All' at the top-right corner of this window. Then click “Add” near the bottom left-hand side where an empty slot awaits with a little green plus sign inside when hovering over it Werkzeugbars next barefootly waiting there without hesitation!

Once you've done all that, open Ableton Live and create a new track by going to File > New > Track (or press Ctrl + Shift + Alt + / on Windows or Command ⌥ + Option + Shift + / on Mac). Then select the 'VST' plugin format from the drop-down menu at the top left-hand corner of your transport bar.

Now, navigate within Ableton's browser until you find 'Reason' under 'Plug-ins'. Double-click it to open up Reason as a VST instrument inside Abletoon.

In Reason, go to 'rack view' by clicking on the small gear icon in the upper-right corner of any empty space above all your devices (or press Ctrl + Shift + R).

Now that we're in rack mode, you'll see lots of different modules and effects laid out before us. To add a new one click-and-drag it from the left-hand side onto an available slot on our main mixing area - I recommend placing them after any drum/percussion sources since they might otherwise get muffled!

For this example let's just throw in some basic drum kit sounds using Reason's built-in instruments: Double-click 'A-440' to load up a kick drum sound. Then double-double click on 'TRX-16' for an Roland TR909-style hi-hat sample.

Now we need something fun and interesting happening over top of these dull old drums... So go ahead - browse through Reason's vast library until you find some tasty synth sounds or effects to spice things up!
